HOW WE STARTED?
Volunteerism – A Backbone of community Development
Go through Indian History – Then – and Now, many volunteers moved by the spirit of other centeredness – my Nation and my People Spirit. Our India and our people – Our Mother Land – Vande Mataram – Jai Kisan and Jai Jawan – these eternal vibrations and ventilation of the volunteerism spirit still moves us – one and all on and on. This is also the case with KRWCDS
KRWCDS has encouraged not only local volunteers but also external volunteers to live in the interior, roadless, currentless, basic needless, basic need structureless – educational structures, health structures, shopless villages.
The internally committed volunteers had encountered such heroic situations to live in such villages, with such people to come out successfully. KRWCDS had been initiated with two such volunteers supported by at first 4 local volunteers namely Mr. Apa Belurkar, Mr. Babush, Mr. Suresh and Mr. Vilas. These were supported by local rural interior women volunteers Mrs. Sheilla, Mrs. Premila, Mrs. Manda, Mrs. Mangala. Then groups of local volunteers had participated. It was then complemented by external foreign volunteers – namely 20 French college volunteers for the period of 4 years had participated. He build a community centres at 4 villages. This was followed up by German volunteers for the period of 5 years staying in a village, studying the rural situations and working out strategic plans with KRWCDS and the local organizations.
