I am Akshata. At present I am working in the computer section of Cipla Medicine Production Company at Verna. My elder sister Renuka is too working in the same company. At Verna along the other few friends both of us are staying in rented house. Both of us are drawing attractive salaries and are very happy as we are managing our daily affairs with our own earnings. For this achievement we always pay our salute KRWCDS –ChildFund programs.
My mother joined SHG that running under the supervision of KRWCDS –ChildFund in the year 1998 and got enrolled me in the program. I was given case no. 88 and was sponsored. I was getting DFC which enabled me to have valuable things at home especially for me and my sister to have good dresses and fulfill my educational needs. Due to illness my mother and my father expired in the years 2006 and 2009 respectively. When we were helpless my cousin came forward to shelter us. He had his mother with him who was very old. With an intention of not becoming burden for my sister and myself started to go for coolie works like maid work, collecting oysters and selling them door to door and were maintain our daily affairs. In the meanwhile I joined pre university course and could not get through it.
Once our village community mobilizer Mr. Gopalkrishna Baadkar visited us to get enrolled us in the youth club. By seeing our situation he asked us why we don’t join skill development training in various streams at Bangalore. He also informed that since we are the part of KRWCDS – ChildFund, we will have financial support to get this training and how this privilege changed the other children who went through this training and regarding immediate placement too.
Now what we are today is only because of KRWCDS –ChildFund I feel very confident in my life. Now we, both the sisters can do conversation in English, good in computers and earn sufficient salary by which we can manage ourselves. Hence we feel very proud say we were once related to KRWCDS –ChildFund. Hats off to KRWCDS –ChildFund.
